August 17, 2009: Minutes
The Motley County Board of Trustees met Monday, August 17, 2009
at 7:30 p.m. in a regular scheduled meeting. Also present were Dr.
Andrew Seigrist, William Cochran and Denise Ford.
Lewis Drum gave the invocation.
No one was present for open forum.
ITEMS FOR BOARD ACTION
A. Motion by Tina Brooks, seconded by Don Baxter to approve the
minutes of the August 4, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 7/0.
B. Motion by Lewis Drum, seconded by Gilbert Guererro to approve
the list of expenditures. Motion carried 7/0.
C. Motion by Don Baxter, seconded by JD Russell to approve the
budget amendment. Motion carried 7/0.
D. Motion by Lewis Drum, seconded by Don Baxter to award the liquid
propane gas to Wylie. Motion carried 7/0.
E. Motion by Gilbert Guerrero, seconded by Don Baxter to award
Gasoline and Diesel to Cornelius Oil. Motion carried 7/0.
F. No action taken on janitorial supplies
G. Motion by Tina Brooks, seconded by Don Baxter to award the
Property Insurance, General Liability Insurance to Carson
Insurance. Motion carried 7/0.
I. Motion by Tina Brooks, seconded by Lewis Drum to accept the
2009/2010 Employee handbook. Motion carried 7/0.
During the Principal’s report, the anticipated enrollment is 182
for 2009/2010. Seven students are signed up for dual credit to be
taken first semester.
During the Superintendent’s report, Dr. Seigrist handed out the
2009/2010 board goals and distributed athletic passes. The Texas
Railroad Commission Safety inspector was on campus, and the only
facility that was not in compliance was the field house. Chuck Ream
will have the issue fixed and file the report. Motley County ISD
has received “RECOGNIZED” for 2008-2009. Expedition #2 is being
repaired at Quality Body Shop in Floydada. Dr. Seigrist gave an
update on the buildings that received damage during the last hail
storm.
J. Motion was made by Mark Seigler, seconded by Gilbert Guerrero to
employ Angela Seigrist as the Title I/Librarian for the 2009/2010
school year. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion to adjourn by Lewis Drum, seconded by JD Russell. Motion
carried 7/0.
