November 16, 2009: Minutes
The Motley County Board of Trustees met Monday, November 16,
2009 at 7:30pm in a regular scheduled board meeting. All board
members were present except Lewis Drum. Also present were Dr.
Andrew Seigrist and Denise Ford.
Invocation was given by JD Russell
No one was present for Open Forum
ITEMS FOR BOARD ACTION
A. Motion by JD Russell, seconded by Don Baxter to approve the
minutes October 19 and October 30. Motion carried 5/0.
B. Motion by Tina Brooks, seconded by Don Baxter to approve the
list of expenditures. Motion carried 5/0.
C. Motion by Don Baxter, seconded by JD Russell to approve the TASB
Update 86 with changes as recommended by Schwartz and Eichelbaum,
School Attorneys. Motion carried 5/0.
D. Motion by Tina Brooks, seconded by Don Baxter to approve the new
price offer from Energy for Schools, Pool 16, to purchase
electricity for the district. Effective September 2010. Motion
carried 5/0.
E. Motion by Don Baxter, seconded by Gilbert Guerrero to approve
the Highly Qualified report for No Child Left Behind for 2009-2010.
Motion carried 5/0.
F. The board discussed the new appraisal replacement values for all
district properties as performed by Lowell Cobb, of Howard Wilson
Claims Service of Vernon, Texas. No action taken.
During the Superintendent’s Report, Dr. Seigrist reported that
attendance rate was 97%. District basketball passes were handed to
all board members. Motley County ISD passed the state health
inspection on our facilities. Motley County ISD has received Gold
Performance Acknowledgements from TEA in attendance and for the
Recommended High School Program/Distinguished Achievement
Program.
