April 28, 2010

The Motley County Board of Trustees met on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 7:30pm in a regular scheduled board meeting. All board members were present except Tina Brooks, JD Russell and Lee Jones. Also present were Dr. Andrew Seigrist, William Cochran, Denise Ford, Jan Jones, Rebekah Jameson, Cathey Turner, Dane Butler and Dominique Quilimaco.

Invocation was given by Lewis Drum

OPEN FORUM

Rebekah Jameson and Cathy Turner introduced Dane Butler and Dominique Quilimaco for their accomplishment in UIL.

ITEMS FOR BOARD ACTION

A. Jan Jones gave a brief summary to the board concerning the SHAC committee. No Action taken.

B. Motion by Lewis Drum, seconded by Don Baxter to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried 4/0.

C. Motion by Don Baxter, seconded by Gilbert Guerrero to approve the list of expenditures Motion carried 3/0 with Lewis Drum abstaining.

D. Motion by Don Baxter, seconded by Lewis Drum to award the contract with R.A.I.D. Corporation to provide drug dog services. Motion carried 4/0.

During the Superintendent’s report, Dr. Seigrist reported that Braden Mason placed first in district tennis and qualified for regionals. Regional golf is Monday and Tuesday, April 19 and 20 located in Baird Texas. Relay for life is Friday, April 23, 2010. Angela Seigrist returned from Texas Library Association conference in Houston of which she brought back galley copies of books for our library.
