Scholarship Application

 

The completed application must be submitted via email to aseigrist@motleyco.org 

and the original signed hardcopy must be received in the Administrative Office

by 4:30 p.m. on March 1, 2010

 

(Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted!)

Purpose:

Scholarships are available to Motley County ISD students to encourage them to begin a program of higher education, either in a college or university or a program leading to a degree or certification.

 

Persons Eligible to Apply for Grants:

 

All members of the Motley County ISD 20010 Senior class.

 

Due Date:  March 1, 2010

 

Selection Criteria:

 

Up to five $8000 scholarships will be awarded to students who score 90% of 4 (3.6) or above on a matrix that includes:

Scholarship (cumulative GPA and ACT score)                                                                                Leadership roles                                                                                                                                   Extracurricular activities at Motley County ISD

Hand written essay

Community activity                                                                                                                                        Work history

Letters of recommendation

 

Each student who completes the application and provides all information required will receive a $1000 scholarship.

Distribution of Funds - Funds will be distributed by the Foundation and coordinated through the MCISD Business Office.

$8000 scholarship awards will be paid over a period of four years, with $2000 available each year, directly to the college or institution at the beginning of the fall semester upon proof of enrollment in an institution leading to a degree or certification and at the beginning of the spring (and subsequent) semester(s) upon documentation of 2.5 GPA (as a full-time student in the previous semester)

$1000 scholarship awards will be paid over a period of one year, with $500 available each semester, directly to the college or institution at the beginning of the fall semester upon proof of enrollment in an institution leading to a degree or certification and at the beginning of the spring (and subsequent) semester(s) upon documentation of 2.5 GPA (as a full-time student in the previous semester)

In no instance will the award exceed the total tuition fees and books, after consideration of other scholarships and grants to a student.
